Our story is one rooted in Christ and rooted in the heart of our community.
For over 350 years Baptists have met to worship God together at various sites in Newbury, including the upper rooms of what is now the Camp Hopson department store. 

Over the years there have been two books written about our history, both by former church members: one in 1940, the other in 2003.

Today, we are a modern, close-knit community. We believe in living out our Christian faith as effectively as possible, continuing NBC's rich history of community action, committed service and faithful witness to Jesus.

Our mission is to: 

Connect with God: We long to see NBC as a lively, vibrant, inclusive and growing church, strengthened through regular worship, preaching and teaching which leads people of all ages to commit their lives to Christ.  

Connect with others: Our desire is to grow in the depth of our relationship with Christ and with one another. Our Sunday Services, small groups and mid-week meetings help us grow together in faith

Connect others to God: We want others to know the good news of Jesus Christ. To do this we partner with local and international organisations through our mission links
